Joe, you really need to learn the correct pronunciation of “Appomattox”.
I was just using the “semi-penultimate” rule. aPOMatox. It’s usually right, just not always.
Are there any other sprees beside shopping and killing?
How could you forget CRIME SPREES!
A couple more pop culture connections to spree killers:

Does Columbine not count? Only on one campus, I suppose.
I have to say, guys, that this was probably the most disturbing of your episodes I’ve listened to so far (having listened to all up to this point and a number beyond). I guess by talking about things (and especially poking fun at them occasionally) you can take their power away, but there were some mighty powerful examples you spoke about. For example, I hadn’t heard nearly as much detail on the Port Arthur killings as here, and I live in Australia (not Tasmania though). It had a bit effect on gun laws anyway – the federal Govt convinced the public to agree to a cash-for-guns programme to massively reduce the number of guns around the country.
Thanks for the education.
